SF1000E
EPA-certified and made in the USA, the Shelter SF1000E forgoes natural gas, oil, or propane for the cost-savings of wood fuel. It may be used as a standalone, forced-air heating solution or as an add-on wood furnace to provide additional heat for your living space. Each furnace is handcrafted in St. Louis, Missouri.
Green and Efficient. Less Wood, More Comfort.™
Whole Home Heating Solution™
The Shelter SF1000E can comfortably heat a 2,500-square-foot home. Its pre-wired electrical components help to avoid complicated electrical work, and its two 8” starting collars and 6” chimney connection point facilitate easy, seamless integration both to your HVAC ductwork and chimney system. With clearance to combustible distances of just 6” on the sides of the unit and 12” on the back, the SF1000E may be installed safely in even the most cramped spaces.
The furnace’s insulated, stainless steel-lined firebox helps to protect its vital, vulnerable components. The firebox also enables burn times up to 9 hours for comfortable and consistent whole-home heating. A thermostatically controlled draft induction blower and a powerful distribution blower combine to deliver a maximum peak heat output of 143,500 BTUs. The furnace’s easy-access ash pan allows for quick, easy cleaning as wood fuel is expended.
Minimum clearances of 6” on the sides and 12” on the back allow for installation in tight spaces.
Enjoy consistent heat delivery with longer intervals between loading the firebox.
Capable of providing a high level of indoor heat against even the most frigid outdoor conditions.
Powerful blower motor pushes heat through ductwork and delivers it throughout the entire home.
Engineered to distribute a continuous supply of heat to a versatile range of living space sizes.
Meets IRS requirements as a "Qualified Energy Property" to be eligible for a 30% tax credit (up to $2,000).
1 Based on 10 pounds per cubic foot of firebox capacity and 8,500 BTU per pound of wood.
2 Based upon tested efficiency at Maximum Peak Input. BTU output cycles are dependent upon the amount of and quality of wood. It is not a continuous, steady output.
3 Actual laboratory test results for 1000E series.
4 Actual performance will be dependent upon field variables, and estimate is based upon a high-performance home located in Heating Zone 4 USA.
