Kohmar is a company with a lot of character. Brothers Jason and Brian Kohring started the business in 2011. Its name is a portmanteau of their last name (Kohring) and Marsh — another family surname. Kohmar claims to have more National Air Duct Cleaners Association-certified technicians than any other company in Virginia.
While the company doesn’t list prices for their dryer vent cleaning services, they do lay out their process comprehensively:
- It starts with a crew member inspecting your entire dryer exhaust system
- They then offer you repair recommendations to allow you to dictate the process
- If you want your vents cleaned, they then take some pictures of the vents
- They perform air tests to measure the extent of your dryer’s issues

With a name like “The Dryer Vent Guys,” you would hope that this company cleans dryer vents well. And they do, if their ratings are to be believed. With 821 reviews, The Dryer Vent Guys are the most-reviewed company on this list. And they still maintain a perfect five-star rating.
While they don’t list prices online, their schedulers will reach out to confirm pricing after you schedule a visit. The company notes that you may pay a higher-than-normal rate if:
- Your vent is longer than 10 feet
- Your vent requires a ladder to reach (i.e., it’s on your roof or terminates on the second floor)
The Dryer Vent Guys do offer a $25 discount per vent if you ask for additional vent cleanings. Other vents they clean include air ducts, bathroom ducts, and kitchen ducts. The company also offers commercial services, most commonly for laundromats, hair salons, hotels, and hospitals.

Dryer Vent Safety’s name gives some clue as to the company’s origin. Owner Scott Broadway experienced the effects of a dryer fire firsthand. This granted him the impetus to start Dryer Vent Safety with the goal of helping to prevent similar accidents.
The company offers diagnostic inspections and dryer exhaust repair in addition to their dryer vent cleaning services. The actual vent cleaning process includes:
- Placing covers to protect your floor from equipment and foot traffic
- Technicians who wear shoe covers to protect your floors
- The use of a high-powered HEPA-filtered vacuum
